Artrepublic gallery

(Photograph) - Royal Mail is threatening to sue the Artrepublic gallery in Brighton over this image of the Queen in a gas mask. James Cauty, former leader of the rock band The KLF who once burnt Pounds 1 million cash, created the work in response to the war against Iraq. But the postal service claims that it is a breach of its copyright on stamps and the Queen's profile image and has told the gallery to remove it by Friday. The gallery argues that at 56cm x 61cm (22in x 24in), the posters are much larger than a stamp and that the Queen's bust is the artist's own work.
