- Description: KLF to appear at zippie Unity Mega-rave in Arizona
Justifed Ancients Of No-No
By - (27 August, 1994, NME)
The KLF have supposedly come out of retirement to headline the World Unity
Music Festival, a mega rave in the Grand Canyon, this week.
Although a spokesman for Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty denied that the KLF
even exist, reports on the Internet insist that the rave will take place
with the KLF from August 24-27. The spokesman said that neither Drummond or
Cauty had any plans to attend the event.
Organisers of the World Unity Music Festival hope that it will eclipse
Woodstock II as "the defining moment of a generation", even though the
County Sheriff's department told NME that no permit had been granted for the
rave and that they had no knowledge of such an event taking place.
The event's organisation has been taking place mostly on the Internet, where
it is claimed the rave will take place at Red Butte on the southern rim of
the Grand Canyon near Flagstaff, Arizona.
The festival was heavily featured in US magazine _Wired_ and if discussions
on the Internet bulletin boards are to be believed, thousands will be
attending the free festival.
